Based on the classic storybook by L. Frank Baum, the Wizard of Oz is a children’s movie. The story is about Dorothy and her dog Toto who find themselves transported to the magical land of ‘Oz.’ This movie is about independence and bravery, teaching viewers about being kind and humble. Although it may contain several cartoonish elements, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is targeted towards families for its mature concepts that both adults and children can enjoy.

Eragon is a dragon fantasy novel filled with intense battles and mythical creatures. The movie follows Eragon a farm boy, who finds out that he is a dragon rider after a supposed rock/egg hatches. The story focuses mainly on the characters’ challenges and the progress he makes with his dragon.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Released in 2016, ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ is another example of a book turned into a movie. Consisting of dangerous quests, peculiar children and hungry monsters, this book tells the story of Jake, a boy who is vacationing in a remote island that most people don’t visit. The movie follows the struggles that Jake goes through as he tries to understand what the mysterious evil that prevails is, and what it wants with him.
Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Written by famous author Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson is a five-book series that is followed by ‘The Heroes of Olympus.’ The movie is considered to be an easy version of the book as it doesn’t cover as many details and it isn’t as climactic. However, it is still as funny and intense. The story’s protagonist is a boy called Percy Jackson, a boy who has Dyslexia and ADHD. Percy finds out that his normal and boring life isn’t what it seems and that he is destined for something more significant.
